My weekend

Yesterday i was helping my stepdad clear his attic, once we get everything down, we had to go through everything so he knew what was to keep and what was to go through the tip,
My mum has lived in her house for 22years, My stepdad has been there for 19years, so you can imagine how much stuff there was.

I felt like a little girl again, going through everything, My teddies that my dad bought me as a child were there, i used to fall asleep on these, when I say teddies i mean life size bears, I had forgotten all about them, But now they stink, They are 26years old, My mums going to give them a clean so i can show my kids, I also found my mums wedding dress from when she married my dad, I had seen it in pictures and thought it looked beautiful, But my god, seeing it for real and it's stunning, I can't believe she has kept it all these years.
She has said she will get it dry cleaned and I can have it if i want it, I've said yes, It's not something I would get married in, but I still want to keep it.
I even found my son's first shoes, little reebok trainers, Looking at them now I can't believe they once used to fit him. I've shown them to DJ, and he said no mummy they weren't mine, cos i've never been that small, so we dug out the photo's to show him, later on when his sister is in bed tonight.
My mum isn't the type of person to show her feelings, and I never thought she kept anything, But she has, all the photo's, pictures, cards we made her as kids, she has them all.
Going through everything bought back some really happy memories, but also made me shed a few tears, that all i have left from my dad is pictures and teddy bears. But i no that he is always by my side and watching over me,

Today DJ is out with his friends, so me and Ruby have been cleaning up the garden ready for the warmer weather, Bless her, she was using her toy dust pan set to brush the patio with me, We come in for a bite to eat and a drink, by the time I had made a sandwich for us both she was fast asleep on the sofa.
so there you have it, My weekend.
